Social Media and Content Manager

Salary: £28k-£32k

The role

The Social and Content Manager is responsible for generating original creative & editorial ideas that meet the requirements of the client and grab the attention of the target audience.

This will involve brainstorming, planning and creating the written content of a professional standard to be published in various formats. This could mean blog posts on a website, user guides, social posts, or emails, all written with a stated client goal in mind.

Post-publication, the Social and Content Manager is then responsible for reporting on the performance of content produced and providing insights which can inform future strategy.

The role requires working in conjunction with the Neon account, design and marketing teams.

The person

We are looking for someone with ambition, someone with a natural curiosity and lot’s of drive. You’ll eat, sleep and breathe the world of digital. You will be self-motivated and an innovator, with excellent organisational skills and ability to spin many plates. You will have a minimum of 3 years hands-on experience of key client accounts & social channels in an agency, and experience of driving exceptional performance for clients.

Job requirements

  • Demonstrating knowledge of your clients’ business, market and brand to independently create and execute tailored social media strategies – from long-term strategy, roadmap creation down to monthly and weekly plans
  • Creating a daily posting schedule across key platforms in order to hit organic KPIs around followers, reach and engagement
  • Managing paid social campaigns, ad sets and advert creative directly in the platforms
  • Channel management tasks – proactive and reactive channel management on behalf of clients
  • Consulting on discovery briefs for clients, spotting social opportunities and creating ideas and mechanics
  • Creating proposals for existing and new clients
  • Creating copy, presenting copy both internally and to clients
  • Ad-Hoc and monthly content reporting
  • Overseeing the production process ensuring content is delivered to deadlines
  • Presenting at regular client and/or inter-agency meetings face to face, phone or via Zoom
  • Measurement and analysis using various analytics software
  • Liaising with the search department ensuring SEO recommendations are implemented and/or incorporated into content planning
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships together with Account Managers to grow the accounts
  • Carrying out regular market and competitor research and analysis to inform/amend the strategy
  • Staying up to date with news/trends of industry/ sector the client is in
  • Understanding the role of social channels & how it informs the content strategy

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

  • 3 years minimum experience, managing key stakeholders both internal and external
  • Fluent in English both spoken & written
  • Experience working with a brand or marketing/digital agency
  • Experience managing paid social campaigns
  • Experienced in drafting written communications in various styles
  • Able to work independently and use creative thinking to solve problems
  • Attention to detail and writing content in line with brand guidelines
  • Excellent communicator both with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of working within the WordPress CMS platform


  • An understanding of the basics of Search Engine Optimisation and how it applies to content structure and publishing
  • Knowledge and experience of marketing automation platforms such as Hubspot
